Takayna is an animated video work developed through field-based observation of forest ecologies in Tasmania. Created during a residency with the Bob Brown Foundation Art for Takayna program, the work draws on material gathered while paddling remote sections of the Arthur River, moving through forest areas designated for logging.

Combining macro wildlife photography and field recordings including documentation of species such as the masked owl the work constructs an evolving ecological system.
