Man of the Forest

Man of the Forest is a short animated film created entirely from collaged wildlife photography and recordings from Borneo and Tasmania’s Tarkine rainforest. The film follows an orangutan, whose form is composed entirely of images of plants and animals. Although this film is set in Borneo, nearly all the footage and photography is from Tasmanian forests, highlighting an unexpected connection between these seemingly distant rainforests. Blending animation and documentary, it explores the fragility of ecosystems and the shared threats facing forests and species alike.
