Animated Ecosystem Studies
A series of looping digital works derived from site-based animation developed in Queenscliff. Built from collaged macro photography and environmental stills captured on location, each piece reinterprets coastal ecological imagery into cyclical motion systems. These works function as autonomous moving-image artworks intended for continuous display across screen-based environments, including gallery installation, projection, and digital exhibition contexts.
1. Atmospheric Whales
A slow atmospheric study of scale and submerged movement, built from collaged coastal fragments gathered along the Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale shoreline.
2. Galas
A cyclical motion study exploring rhythm and drift, constructed from collaged avian forms and coastal textures captured in Queenscliff.
3. Weedy Sea Dragon
A collaged marine ecosystem study exploring fragility and ornamentation, built from layered coastal imagery and underwater textures.

Digital animated collage series (PSD & AE)
Screen-based / looping works
Macro photography + environmental field captureConcept
The series originates from field-based animation research developed in Queenscliff, where coastal environments, marine life, and atmospheric conditions were documented, abstracted, and reconstructed through digital collage. Rather than presenting narrative sequences, the works explore repetition, rhythm, and environmental fragmentation through looping systems. Each piece functions as a self-contained ecological study, translating real-world imagery into speculative animated forms.
Material Process
Each work is constructed from macro photography and environmental stills captured on location in Queenscliff and surrounding coastal areas. These materials are reassembled through digital collage into animated looping systems.
Circulation
Selected works from this series are currently available for licensing and exhibition through Sugar Glider/ Art Pharmacy, where they are presented as screen-based artworks for looping display in gallery and installation contexts.
Extended works and additional ecosystem studies derived from the Queenscliff series are available on request.
